Kalymnos

The ultimate destination for climbing in Greece must be Kalymnos with 1700 routes. On the island they are many thing one might do besides climbing as well. This friendly island is great for families with great weather almost 10 months a year!It is known as the sponge fishers island .Kalymnos offers great routes for all ages and levels. The sectors are very close to each other. This great climbing destination was only discovered in the 90 s when some Italian climbers visited the islands on holidays. They saw the potential and returned to the island with drills and bolts. They even got arrested since the Kalymians thought they were trying to steal the rocks

Waterfalls (Katarraktes), Serres prefecture

Bouldering in Tinos

Bouldering is a type of climbing that does not use safety harness.Climbing smaller rocks which are usually not higher than 5 meters high and using special mattresses-crash pads to break the fall. When all measures have been taken properly it is considered safer than climbing with a harness.Bouldering was made fashionable in the 90s by Chris Sharma but who discovered it remains a mystery.Tinos is popular as a religious destination amongst greeks for the church of Panagia of Tinos (Holy Mary) and visited by thousands every year. But when it comes to bouldering Tinos is still relatively unknown .
